XCCR / FXCCR Training

Rebreather training for divers who demand precision

XCCR and FXCCR systems are powerful tools, but only in the hands of a disciplined diver. Training focuses on repeatable procedures, fault management, bailout decision-making, and confident execution under stress.

About the unit

The XCCR/FXCCR platform is designed around robust construction, dependable electronics, and expedition-minded reliability. In class, we do not just discuss features; we build usable habits around those features so they support sound diving decisions at depth.

You will learn system setup discipline, pre-dive verification, stable loop management, PO2 control, and structured emergency workflows that translate directly to real-world diving.

Training emphasis

  • Pre-dive setup, checklist consistency, and team readiness
  • Normal operation with stable buoyancy, trim, and workload control
  • Bailout strategy, gas planning, and execution discipline
  • Fault recognition, diagnosis, and decisive corrective action
  • Post-dive review and debrief for measurable progression

Required training pathway

Specific prerequisites can vary by agency and your current experience. The path below reflects the expected progression before and through CCR certification.

1) Foundation

Solid open-circuit fundamentals: buoyancy control, trim, propulsion, situational awareness, and clean team communication.

2) Decompression competence

Demonstrated decompression planning and execution habits, including gas management, runtime discipline, and controlled ascents.

3) Unit-specific CCR training

XCCR/FXCCR Air Diluent and subsequent mixed-gas progression with extensive in-water problem-solving and bailout drills.
