Overhead Environment

Cavern Diver

Cavern training introduces overhead protocols within strict limits. The objective is line discipline, controlled movement, and team decision-making while remaining in the daylight zone.

Course focus

Topics include gas management, line procedures, communication, stress management, and emergency response. In-water work emphasizes trim, non-silting propulsion, and predictable decision-making around overhead hazards.

Prerequisites

  • Open Water certification or equivalent
  • At least 25 logged dives recommended
  • Reliable buoyancy and teamwork habits

Outcome

Graduates are prepared for supervised cavern diving within training limits and leave with stronger overhead fundamentals.
